Judging by the movies, security guards don't warrant their sometimes staid reputation. Exciting adventures, daring rescues, and romantic involvement with beautiful women—these are all part of a day's work for those with security guard training in Hollywood. Here are the top five movies featuring security guards from the past decade.
Observe & Report (2009) Seth Rogen stars as Ronnie Barnhardt, head of security at the Forest Ridge Mall. While investigating a series of indecent exposures, the bumbling Barnhardt overcomes hilarious obstacles to land the girl of his dreams, catch the criminal and make the mall safe again. His guard school security training helped him save the day. Paul Blart: Mall Cop (2009) Paul Blart, played by comedian Kevin James, starts out as your average, mild-mannered man working to support his family. But after a gang of criminals takes control of the mall where he works, Blart finds his inner hero to help free hostages, save the mall and win over his sweetheart.  Night at the Museum (2006) This box-office hit stars Ben Stiller as Larry Daley, who takes a job as a night shift security guard at the Museum of Natural History in New York. Daley thinks he'll be spending his time turning off the lights and viewing the exhibits, but he discovers that after hours, the museum displays come to life and the job is anything but boring. Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009) This follow up to the 2006 film follows museum security guard Larry Daley as he infiltrates the Smithsonian Institution to save the exhibits from a lifetime of sleep when their magic tablet is stolen. With a little help from an all-star cast of characters, Daley saves the day at the museum. Run, Fat Boy, Run (2008) Security guard Dennis Doyle, played by British comedian Simon Pegg, attempts to win back his former fiancée by getting in shape for a marathon. After overcoming side-splitting setbacks, Dennis finishes the race and wins back his lady love.
