Convenient Scheduling with One Course a Month

At Brown Mackie College — Indianapolis, you don't need to wait for a traditional "Fall Start." Because our students aren't always living "traditional" lives we offer new starts each month with day or evening classes that fit your schedule. Each class lasts one month. There's no need to divide your time and energy between coursework and exams for multiple courses. We keep the focus on one course, one subject at a time to help you succeed.

Associate of Science in Criminal Justice

The criminal justice program is for criminal justice practitioners who want to advance their careers, for those in other occupations looking to make a change, and for high school graduates preparing for a future in the criminal justice field.

Associate of Science in Paralegal

The paralegal program prepares graduates for entry-level employment with attorneys and in law firms. Students develop a solid foundation in communication and problem solving skills through general education course work.

The course work covers fundamentals of paralegal responsibilities including:

  • Application of business law principles in the normal course of business
  • Providing assistance to the attorney during trial
  • Researching legal records
  • Proper utilization of investigative skills
  • Drafting of basic contracts, mortgages, separation agreements and trust instruments

Entry-level employment opportunities include paralegal or legal assistant, with possible areas of specialization including:

  • Litigation
  • Probate law
  • Criminal law
  • General practice
  • Corporate law

Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice

Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies

The legal studies program provides an excellent foundation for those graduates who seek employment as paralegals/legal assistants. These individuals, in entry-level positions, work for attorneys by assisting with the preparation of criminal and civil cases, including:

  • Interviewing clients
  • Investigating facts
  • Drafting legal documents
  • Researching law
