Criminal Justice - Associate's (Online)
Our Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Criminal Justice program will teach you the theories underlying our society's law enforcement, judicial and corrections systems. You will also learn how to apply that knowledge in situations where the three areas intersect.
Graduates of the associates in criminal justice program will be prepared for a range of exciting entry-level positions. The demand for trained job applicants is strong in each of the following areas:

Criminal Justice - Bachelor's (Online)
Bachelor of Science Degree - 12 quarters
The objective of the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice program is to provide an understanding of the theories underlying law enforcement, judicial systems, and correctional modalities within the context of social sciences. The required general education coursework enhances students' critical thinking and problem solving skills. Program graduates prepare for entry-level positions and advancement opportunities in a range of criminal justice positions including corrections officers, private security, protective services and investigator positions. The program provides a foundation for supervision, management, and leadership.
The goal of this program is to prepare graduates who are able to:
- Describe the societal influences on and the interaction among the three components of the criminal justice system
- Identify the key elements of an investigation
- Explain the theories of criminal behavior
- Analyze the balance between the needs of offenders versus the needs and expectations of the community
- Demonstrate appropriate written and verbal communication skills
- Evaluate the quality of multiple viewpoints, arguments, and evidence and distinguish between fact and opinion
- Exhibit social responsibility and examine the diverse cultures and value systems of our global community
- Analyze the complexities of the American correctional system as they relate to treatment, counseling, probation, parole and victimology
- Compare and contrast management and leadership skills
- Develop strategies to make ethical decisions in the workplace
Paralegal - Certificate, Associate's or Bachelor's (Online)
This is an in-depth program that trains students in a variety of legal disciplines along with general business and office technology skills. Students learn research, drafting legal proceedings and memoranda, document preparation, filing subpoenas and various other legal documents and correspondence, client interviews, evidence evaluation and more. Graduates of this program also develop sound business software applications skills and strong written communication abilities.
