The objective of the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice program is to provide an understanding of the theories underlying law enforcement, judicial systems, and correctional modalities within the context of social sciences. The required general education coursework enhances students' critical thinking and problem solving skills. Program graduates prepare for entry-level positions and advancement opportunities in a range of criminal justice positions including corrections officers, private security, protective services and investigator positions. This is an in-depth program that trains students in a variety of legal disciplines along with general business and office technology skills. Students learn research, drafting legal proceedings and memoranda, document preparation, filing subpoenas and various other legal documents and correspondence, client interviews, evidence evaluation and more. Graduates of this program also develop sound business software applications skills and strong written communication abilities.
