Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice

Our Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice degree can help you take advantage of these career opportunities. The mission of the Kaplan University, Lincoln campus' criminal justice program is to provide you with the opportunity to develop a strong foundation and understanding of the areas of law enforcement, courts, corrections and security. The program prepares you to pursue further studies or seek employment in the criminal justice and public safety fields. Upon graduation, you may qualify for entry-level employment in federal, state and local criminal justice organizations such as: police departments, law enforcement offices, juvenile correctional facilities, private sector security and sheriff's departments. Additional academy training may be needed for certain law enforcement jobs.
Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies
The objective of the paralegal program is to prepare students with the knowledge, technical skills and work habits required for an entry-level position in the legal field. The curriculum offers students a general knowledge of legal concepts, an understanding of and appreciation for specific areas of substantive law, and develops technical skills in legal research, writing and recognition of legal issues.
This program is designed to expose students to the basic legal principles necessary to function effectively in a law office, public agency or business environment. Duties for the graduates of this program will include legal research utilizing computer assisted legal research, drafting legal documents, conducting legal investigations and assisting attorneys in trial preparation.
Bachelor's/Advanced Start Bachelor's in Criminal Justice
Our criminal justice programs could prepare you for a professional position in the public or private sectors of law enforcement, corrections, or security. Upon successful completion of the program, you may seek future entry-level employment opportunities in local law enforcement, court system personnel, private security, federal or state government. Further academy training may be required.
