Sullivan University's Institute for Legal Studies can prepare you with the education you need to enter the legal environment. Paralegal Studies - Associate of Science

The Associate of Science (A.S.) Degree in Paralegal Studies offers students a combination of paralegal core courses, basic courses, and general studies courses. This program, approved by the American Bar Association, prepares graduates for a variety of paralegal positions in government, with law firms and in business.

Paralegal Studies - Post-Baccalaureate Certificate

Students who have earned a Bachelor's degree from Sullivan University or another college or university and who complete 58 additional credit hours of core requirements at Sullivan University are eligible for graduation with a Paralegal Studies Post-Baccalaureate Certificate. This certificate program is designed to allow individuals with a prior degree to complete a short program of study, yet have exposure to the same law-related course work that is required for the Paralegal Studies Associate degree.

Paralegal Studies - Bachelor of Science

The Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies (B.S.P.S.) degree is designed to enhance the skills and abilities of students by exposing them to advanced paralegal course work in conjunction with other business related courses. The curriculum will provide students with a well-rounded educational experience. Through training in the more complex areas of paralegal practice and the development of a keen business sense, the Bachelor Degree Paralegal Studies graduate should recognize expanded career opportunities. This program of study is approved by the American Bar Association. It is also an excellent bachelor degree program to prepare students for success in law school.

Legal Administrative Assistant - Diploma

The legal field offers many exciting career opportunities. The development of a sound vocabulary, familiarity with legal routine and phraseology and an introduction to procedures and documents common to the legal environment, are all presented in the Legal Administrative Assistant Program. Students gain the competence required for satisfying positions in the offices of practicing attorneys, judges, district attorneys, federal and government officials, municipal and state legal departments, and public or private corporations

Legal Administrative Professional - Associate of Science

The Associate of Science (A.S.) Degree with a Legal Administrative Professional option can open additional doors in the legal field for the graduate. The degree combines the solid skills gained from the diploma with specialized management skills and general studies classes. These elements round out the student's career education and enhance the graduate's potential for upward mobility in the modern legal office.

Public Safety Administration - Associate's

The Public Safety Administration program academically prepares graduates to enter the field of criminal justice or other protective fields. Many agencies now require applicants hold an Associates degree to meet basic eligibility requirements in addition to a high school diploma or GED. Sullivan's approach provides students with the opportunity for a well rounded education in the vast field of public safety. By recognizing all public safety agencies interact regularly, classes not only focus on criminal justice but many areas related to the public safety field. In addition, the administration component of the program allows students to develop skills in conflict resolution, psychology, public speaking, human resource management and many others. These skills help prepare graduates for advancement and promotion within the field of public safety after initial entry into the field.
