Graduates of the criminal justice program will be able to
analytically evaluate, synthesize information, and use
critical-thinking skills to develop appropriate solutions for
important criminal justice issues. The program is designed to
help you understand the coercive nature of criminal justice
decision-making and the need to use logic, ethics, and
critical-thinking skills in order to use your authority
appropriately. This program prepares you for entry-level
employment in various criminal justice agencies such as: police
officers, court clerks, court bailiffs, correctional officers,
probation officers, parole officers, and other federal law
enforcement positions. Policing and institutional corrections
employment will also require the completion of a training
academy. If advancing in the criminal justice field is your goal,
this program will help you achieve it.
Associate's - Paralegal Studies

Science degree in Paralegal Studies for students who wish to
pursue a course of study emphasizing basic paralegal skills.
Credits earned in this program will apply toward a Bachelor of
Science degree in Paralegal Studies. Students can normally
achieve the bachelor's degree in six additional quarters.

Bachelor's - Paralegal Studies

National American University offers a highly acclaimed Bachelor
of Science in Paralegal Studies degree program. Paralegals,
sometimes called legal assistants, may be employed in law firms,
corporate legal departments, local, state and federal government
offices, bank and trust offices, and other offices requiring
analytical and communication skills. Under the supervision of an
attorney, paralegals may interview clients and witnesses, draft
court pleadings and other legal documents, perform legal
research, investigate medical, police and other records, attend
hearings, assist in trial preparations and assist at trial.
Paralegals may not give legal advice, represent a client in court
or set fees.
