The Academy of Court Reporting and Technology - Pittsburgh
235 Fourth Ave
Pittsburgh, PA 15222

Discover the Possibilities at The Academy of Court Reporting & Technology

The Academy of Court Reporting & Technology was founded in 1970 as a court reporting school. From 1970 to 1984, the Academy built a national reputation for producing outstanding reporters and placing them throughout the United States. In 1984, because of increasing demand for qualified paralegals and legal secretaries, the Academy expanded its vision to include these areas. In 2001, the growth and need for investigative and security specialists pointed the Academy toward the development and implementation of its security & investigation program. In 2006, the Academy became a subsidiary of Delta Career Education Corporation. In 2008, the Academy initiated an expansion of its offerings to serve the needs of the business and healthcare community and to provide increasing employment opportunities for its graduates.

Many opportunities await our graduates at government agencies, law firms, court systems, hospitals and other related businesses. Gain the competitive advantage as a graduate of The Academy, while benefiting from:

  • Career placement assistance
  • Financial assistance to those who qualify
  • A focused curriculum

With our small class sizes and individualized attention, The Academy will help to build the foundation and skills you need for a successful legal profession. The Academy prepares graduates by offering educational programs that stay current with the needs of the legal field, have qualified faculty dedicated to the professional delivery of the curriculum, maintain appropriate equipment and library resources, and require standards of performance that ensures the students learn the necessary skills.

One of the strongest and most important elements in the Academy programs is its extension of the classroom to the actual marketplace through its externship programs. These courses allow students to gain real experience in the actual courtroom, law office and business in which they will eventually work.
