Woodbury College
Woodbury College is a pioneer in educating the broader public in legal understanding and conflict management. Woodbury introduced paralegal education to the state of Vermont in 1975 and offers the nation's only Master of Science in Mediation awarded by a regionally-accredited institution. The Woodbury faculty of experienced attorneys is committed to demystifying the law and helping non-attorneys know the legal dimensions essential to their activities which include the following abilities:
- Understanding legal language and concepts
- Applying conflict management strategies as alternatives to legal process
- Managing their own legal affairs when they can
- Using the services of attorneys productively

Master of Science in Law (Online)
The Master of Science in Law (MSL) degree at Woodbury College helps non-lawyers gain legal knowledge to increase their effectiveness and advance their careers. In a business and professional climate highly regulated and rich in legal dimensions, the law is so important that everyone should understand it. Woodbury's MSL degree helps professionals such as managers, human resource workers, program directors, health professionals, policy makers and advocates develop the skills to work confidently with the law and lawyers, and prevent needless litigation.
The Master of Science in Law consists of seven core courses and an additional three in one of five areas of concentration:
- Elder Law
- Health Law
- Human Resources Law
- Intellectual Property Law
- Managerial Law
The MSL program is structured as follows:
- Six start dates per year, two per semester: spring, summer and fall
- Ten 3-credit courses for a total of 30 credits
- The program can be completed in less than two years
- Small groups of students who move through the program together
- Online, asynchronous curricular activities include discussions, papers, projects, reports, case studies and workplace-oriented assignments
