The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is a private,
not-for-profit institute of higher learning with campuses in
Chicago, Southern California and online.
The Chicago School is regionally accredited by the Higher
Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges
and Schools, and the council for Higher Education Accreditation.
It is also an institutional member of the National Council of
Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology.
As such, our Programs include a synchronous "virtual residency"
component -- a one or two-hour session (each term) in which all
students are expected to be online simultaneously.
We provide Chicago School students with the resources and
learning they need to enter and thrive in their chosen areas of
practice and communities. To become a successful professional and
leader, real-world experience is necessary in addition to
academic preparation and field placement training.
The Chicago School's online master's degree programs in
psychology are taught by faculty who are renowned experts in
their fields, and deliver the same rigorous, world-class
education that is the hallmark of a Chicago School education.
Through the curriculum, students are able to integrate
theoretical learning, with the practice of making a positive
difference, and apply that learning to the workplace. All
programs are designed to accommodate the full-time commitments of
students with career demands and other obligations. Students are
able to specialize in the area of psychology that interests them.
Master's in Applied Forensic Psychology
The rapidly growing field of Forensic Psychology focuses on the
application of psychology and mental health knowledge to the law
and our legal system. The Chicago School's Forensic Psychology
M.A. program is the only one of its kind in the Midwest. It is
designed specifically for professionals who work in fields such
as law enforcement, corrections, victim assistance, court,
probation and protective services, jails and prisons, and
specialized agencies such as child advocacy centers. With two
specializations, Adult Offenders or Juvenile Offenders, students
can customize their learning experience.
Master's in Forensic Psychology

Students gain hands-on experience at The Chicago School Forensic
Center, which provides high quality forensic psychological
services and programming (such as evidence-based interventions,
policy advocacy, and program development) to improve the health
and well-being of individuals within diverse communities. Through
a range of community partnerships, the center provides students
powerful service-learning opportunities that prepare them to be
competent and civically engaged forensic mental health
practitioners.
Students benefit from a range of applied forensic psychology
learning experiences rarely available at other schools—such
as providing expert witness testimony in front of practicing
judges and attorneys during a realistic mock trial experience,
participating in a hostage negotiation simulation, or providing
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) to families involved with
the juvenile court system.
