Associate's in Legal Assistant (Online)

Train for one of the fastest-growing occupations – Paralegal/Legal Assistant. The U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Statistics predicts that the demand for paralegals and legal assistants to grow 22 percent between 2006 and 2016. Jones College's Associate in Science Degree Program with a Legal Assistant Major prepares you for entry-level positions as part of the legal team in a:

  • Law firm
  • Savings and loan association
  • Government agency
  • Insurance company
  • Title company

The Legal Assistant usually works under the supervision of an attorney and assumes part of the attorney's workload, freeing the attorney for tasks that only attorneys are qualified to perform. Your paralegal studies are supplemented with business and general education courses. You'll be prepared for the many roles that you may be asked to fulfill in the legal environment. This is not a pre-law program. You can also complete the entire course curriculum through Online Learning.

This program is an extension of the Associate in Science Degree Program with a Major. The Bachelor's Degree program gives you the opportunity to select from a range of legal specializations to help you fulfill your career goals. This is not a pre-law program. You can also complete the entire course curriculum through Online Learning.
