As the concern about crime increases, the public is looking for
possible solutions for prevention of it. To lower the crime rate,
however, there must be an understanding of the criminal mentality
and how to properly rehabilitate offenders. The Associate's of
Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice program focuses on
crime, law enforcement, correction, and the criminal justice
system. The program provides an interdisciplinary approach to
understanding the mechanisms of social control and resolution of
criminal justice problems, including currently accepted
procedures of resolution. The curriculum is designed to offer a
balance of theory and application that will prove to be
challenging to students, and useful in the field. The program
includes classes such as Introduction to Criminal Justice,
Criminal Investigation and Police Procedures, Criminal Evidence,
Criminal Procedure, Criminology, Introduction to Corrections,
Juvenile Delinquency, and Criminal Justice Report Writing.

The Paralegal program will give you the education you need,
providing a complete overview of practical litigation skills and
tasks.
You will gain the necessary tools to provide vital assistance to
lawyers, clients and courts.
Learn fundamental knowledge about the formation of contracts,
breach of contracts, and remedies for the breach of contracts.
Become familiar with the terminology, policies and procedures
applied to: estate planning, wills, trusts, estate taxes, estate
sales and joint tenancy.
Family and criminal law are other principal subjects covered in
this program. Family law specializes in: divorce, separation,
custody, adoption, guardianship and community property. Criminal
law covers: common law, statutory crimes and punishment, crime
classification, principles of liability and basic criminal
procedure concepts.
