Criminal Justice - Associate of Occupational Studies
As the concern about crime increases, the public is looking for possible solutions for prevention of it. To lower the crime rate, however, there must be an understanding of the criminal mentality and how to properly rehabilitate offenders.
The Associate of Occupational Studies in Criminal Justice program focuses on:
- Crime
- Law enforcement
- Correction
- The criminal justice system
The program provides an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the mechanisms of social control and resolution of criminal justice problems, including currently accepted procedures of resolution. The curriculum is designed to offer a balance of theory and application that will prove to be challenging to students, and useful in the field.
